Sometimes you just have to go hard, regardless of what your insecurities are telling you. Those insecurities are directly associated with the devil himself – if you know you’re not doing wrong and/or compromising anyone but yourself, don’t allow the hype of what could go wrong allow you to succumb to not even giving the ideas in your heart and mind a chance to take flight.
We all have some capabilities that we have never given the opportunity to take on the identity that they are able to become.
I realize that many are not risk takers. But if you’re not giving yourself a chance, why should others? I can recall years ago, sitting in a promotional interview and I become completely honest with not only the interviewer but myself as well. I looked that man straight in the eyes and basically told him – even the current position I hold is beneath me, the position I’m applying for doesn’t makes much sense either and overall, eventually I’m outta here. I didn’t realize it then but some odd years later it chimed back in my memory and I said to myself – I knew then but not enough to know, to actually make moves on it.
So when the inner you is telling you to do something, it’s better the chances of success, if you actually do just as it says because all too often, so many people allow that inner voice to fade out and become face to face with death ears and its potential possibility can never be heard again.
Outside of all the controversy and/or anything else that may follow celebrities, I have always taken a liking to Sean Combs. Sometimes when you cannot seem to come across folks that makes the most sense within your inner circle – that’s when you have to burst through the boundaries and discovery other possibilities of interactions that some may find to be far-fetched but in your mind, you know the truth. “I think it is more important that you start versus where you start. The first step is the most critical and just taking that very first step is often the most import part. Everyone has their own journey but for me, being an intern was invaluable. I loved having a chance to understand every aspect of the business by working my way up…I wasn’t too nervous about starting Bad Boy records because I really believe that if you work hard enough and you truly believe in your vision, there is no way it won’t come true. I am a bit of a dreamer – but also practical about what is required to be successful. I have this saying: “close your eyes and dream, then open your eyes and see.” It is important to have a vision, a big idea. But you also have to do the work, understand what it will take to realize that vision” – (Combs, 2013)
With that being said, I have a saying as well – “Life is to be lived and certainly enjoyed” because we go through life doing everything that is quote on quote, expected of us but what do we expect from ourselves; most of us have to think long and hard to even acknowledge our own destiny because we’ve become plagued with others ideas about our lives and it’s no longer our true identity and we’ve lost our inner selves.

A tie is a very powerful and manly accessory. It delivers a message of seriousness, business, professionalism, and surely success. The tie can definitely make the man.
As of lately, the tie has become an accessory for women. There should be no surprise that women are interested in the culture of the tie because women are also looking to deliver the same powerful message as their male counterpart, but women are also in love with the many details that make a tie very beautiful. Ties come in an array of colors from the bold and bright to the muted and pastels; the wonderful textures of fabrics that include silk, satin, and the luxurious cashmere; let’s not forget the countless patterns of paisleys, dots, geometrics and stripes.
If you are a woman that thinks that a tie is just to masculine to wear, think again. There are a few ways to make the tie soft and feminine while still keeping its masculine and powerful edge. There are many simple ways to make a tie more feminine and one is to complement a fitted turtleneck sweater with a silk tie.
Not sure how to tie a tie? Here is a step-by-step guide to tying one of the simplest knots known as the “Four In Hand”. This knot is not just easy but it is classic and chic.
Place the tie neatly on the neck, front side flat. The wide part of the tie should be longest, and the thinner part of the tie should be touching just above the belly button.
Cross the wider part of the tie over the thinner part of the tie.
Wrap the wider part of the tie around the thinner part of the tie one time.
Wrap the wider part of the tie around the thinner part of the tie for the second time.
Pull the wide part of the tie up through the neck of the tie which is closest to your shirt.
Take the wider part of the tie and slide it through the hoop which is in the very front of the tie–pull through.
Pull and adjust the tie to your comfort. Make sure to keep the neatness of the tie. It should be lying flat.
Your knot will look just like this which is perfect. The slight slant in the symmetric is normal for the “Four In Hand Knot”.
Doesn’t the tie give a very fashionable look to the sweater? It is really cool and swank!
Will you be wearing the tie trend? Will you pass?

He is known as a global icon, activist and leader for the South African community. Just minutes ago USA Today announced that Nelson Mandela has died at 95 years old.
Mandela spent 27 years in South African prisons before his release in 1990. He was able to communicate with nation’s Caucasian leaders toward establishing democracy and was elected South Africa’s first black president in 1994, serving one term. Mandela had a number of issues with his health in the recent years including repetitive hospitalizations with a chronic lung infection. Earlier this year, a couple of false alarms were released that Mandela had passed but they turned out to be just a hoax, but this time around Mandela has left us for good on Thursday, December 05, 2013.
Mandela’s last public appearance was in July of 2010, when he attended the final match and closing ceremonies of the soccer World Cup held in South Africa. The pathway that Mandela has left is historic and legendary. His career is marked not only by his heroic resistance to racism, but also by his humbled-spirit and approachable presence. During Mandela’s career he was awarded the Noble Peace Prize for his leadership in ending apartheid without violence, and later became a global statesman who inspired millions around the world.
Not only was Mandela a leader to the African-American communities he also was a leader to Caucasian-American communities, Asian-American-communities, Latino-American communities and many others. Mandela lived a long life and during his life he made sure he did exactly what he set out to do, bringing world peace back into the lives of people around the world. He will be greatly remembered as a human ambassador and icon to the American world.
